Several principals, assisstant principals and students were present at Monday night’s school board meeting to show their appreciation for school board appreciation month. All Dumas Independent School District (DISD) campuses were represented at the meeting.
“You are the unsung heroes,” said senior Tyler Bybee. “You invest so much into our schools.”
Several of the Dumas Intermediate School Sixth grade Pre-AP Math students and teachers were also present to inform the school board members about the activities taking place in the Pre-AP classroom.
DISD School Board President Jordan Mills responded to the students who were representing the Pre-AP Math class
“At the college level, all of you will be competing with students from large schools,” Mills said.“ This math class will help give you the tools that you will need to compete.”
Bybee responded to this statement during his speech.
“Mr. Mills, you said the Pre-AP math class will give the students the tools they need to compete. Dumas schools have given all of their students the tools they need to compete and we are proud to have those tools,” Bybee said.
Each campus representative introduced themself to the board and gave cards of gratitude to the school board members.
