Pheasant Trails golf pro Tim Spurlock went before the Dumas City Commission Monday evening to request an increase in fees at the golf course. The commissionís response was a deadlocked vote, two in favor and two against the proposal. When all was said and done, the fees at the course will remain the same for the time being.
Spurlock had requested weekday green fees to increase from $16 to $17.50, weekend green fees to increase from $18 to $19.50, twilight fees and senior fees to increase from $13 to $13.50, and junior green fees to increase from $8 to $9.
The golf pro pointed out there has not been an increase in fees for two years and he thought it would be appropriate to increase rates to help offset some of the expenses incurred at the golf course.
The proposed fee increase would have netted the facility between $10,000 and $11,000 more in revenue annually, according to Spurlock.
