The Spearman Lynx will prove to be a tough opponent Friday night as they come to Sunray to try and spoil homecoming for the Bobcats.

Sunray, currently 2-1 on the season, is looking to rebound from last week's loss to Gruver. In that game, the Cats took the lead with just over two minutes left only to have Gruver respond with a score with less than 30 seconds remaining.

Prior to the loss, Sunray had posted victories at home in the opener vs. Boys Ranch and on the road against the Sanford-Fritch Eagles.

"Spearman is a physical football team with an outstanding defense," said Coach Kurt Haberthur in reference to this Friday's opponent. "Their offense is a smash mouth running scheme. We will have to be sharp on the offensive and defensive lines to be successful Friday night. They have shut out their last two opponents."

Find a recap of this Friday night's homecoming game in the Sept. 27 print edition of the News-Press. Also featured will be Sunray's homecoming queen, who will be crowned that evening.
