Volleyball awards banquet conducted

Several members of the Dumas Demonette varsity volleyball team were recognized at a special volleyball sports banquet held Saturday, Dec. 1, in the high school cafeteria. Among the awards given out were all-district nominations as well as awards that Coach Julie Williams and her staff came up with.
Haleigh Valenzuela was recognized for being named the All-District Defensive Player of the Year while Katie Campbell and Baylie Wackler were recognized for being selected First Team All-District. Taylor Holt and Jordan Kiewiet were recognized for making Second Team All-District.
Valenzuela was also recognized for being named the Amarillo Globe News Player of the Year and for being selected to play in the North-South All-Star Game.
Holt was recognized for earning Globe News First Team Super Team and Campbell was Second Team Super Team. Wackler received an honorable mention.
Ashlei Swaim was recognized for being selected to play in the North-South All-Star Game.
