Committee formed for city event center

Dumas City Commissioner Steve Bodnar suggested it could be "putting the cart before the horse" after Commissioner Dr. David Bonner proposed appointing a committee to look into the possibility of building an event center in Dumas.
"I don't think we have enough money to come up with a design," Bodnar said. "This project will cost how many millions? I think it would be better to have more money in the bank."
Bonner proposed forming the committee during the Commission's meeting June 17, and it's the second time time this year they've discussed building an event center. Both times, Bonner has lead the discussion.
