Demonettes down Canyon, 3-2

It wasn't easy, but the Dumas Demonette varsity volleyball team picked up another district win Tuesday evening, defeating the Canyon Lady Eagles in five games, 3-2.

Dumas found itself down 1-0 as Canyon took the opening game 25-21. However, the Demonettes came firing right back to take the second game 25-23 and the third game 25-18. Facing defeat, Canyon rallied in the fourth game to win 25-21 and force a fifth game tie breaker. In that game, Dumas came out on top 15-10.

Baylie Wackler led the team with 39 digs and 39 assists. She also posted five kills and an ace. Christian Rhoades was the team's leader in kills with 18. She also posted four digs in the match. Karlene Arias picked up a team-high eight blocks along with three digs and three kills. Taylor Holt posted 20 digs, 11 kills and an ace.
