8th grade Orange, Black shut out Canyon Junior High

In the game of football, thereís nothing better than keeping your opponent out of the endzone. Itís even better when keep your opponent scoreless, and rack up some turnovers along the way.
The Dumas Junior High School eighth grade football teams made things look easy, as the 8th Black team dispatched Canyon Junior High 36-0 before the 8th Orange team defeated the Eagles in a 7-0 defensive struggle on Tuesday evening at the Canyon High School Football Practice Field.

The eighth graders will get to enjoy the familiar atmosphere of home, starting with a pair of games against Plainview Coronado on Tuesday at Demon Stadium.
The Black Demons will take the field at 4:30 p.m., while the Orange Demons cap the night's pair of games at 5:45 p.m.

DJHS 8th Black 36, Canyon 0: The Black Demons had no problem in final road trip of the season, routing the Eagles on Tuesday afternoon at the Canyon High School Football Practice Field.
Quarterback Trenton Aikman, alongside the dynamic running back stable made up of Lal Pek Thang, Aidan Chamblin and Reggie Barnes, led the Black Demons to a shut out victory. Aikman had a touchdown pass of 36 yards to Thang.
Lal Pek scored two touchdowns over the course of the game, as one was made on the ground and another via a pass from Aikman. Lal Pek also converted two two-point conversions for the Black Demons.
Chamblin scored two rushing touchdowns and converted one two-point try, while Barnes scored a touchdown on a 36 yard run.
Middle linebacker Khup Do Thang, outside linebacker Min Tun, defensive lineman Bryson McDowell and Gohan Molina, led the Black Demon defensive unit by keeping the Eagles out of the endzone throughout the game.
Cash McCurley and Say Nay Htoo contributed heavily to the winning cause, as each player recorded fumble recoveries for the Demons.
DJHS 8th Orange 7, Canyon 0: Even though points came at a premium in their latest outing, the Orange Demons ended the night with a stellar defensive performance in their triumph over the Eagles at the Canyon High School Football Practice Field.
Jacob Rodriguez scored the lone touchdown of the game, intercepting a Canyon pass for a 38-yard touchdown return. Felix Ibarra kicked the extra point.
Braden Boggs-Rushing came away with a well-rounded defensive performance with one interception, one fumble recovery and two quarterback sacks.
Zyrell Murga also hauled in an interception against Canyon Junior High, while Victor Chavez brought down the Canyon quarterback for a sack.
Jose Chavira and Hugo Morales also garnered one quarterback sack, respectively.
