Appel is Superintendent of the Year
Larry Appel, Superintendent of Dumas Independent School District, has been selected as the Region 16 Superintendent of the Year for 2010.

Flag presented
Dumas Memorial Nursing Center was presented with a new United States Flag on Monday, June 14. The flag was donated by Nita and Pritesh Bhaktka. “We have always flown a flag,” said Dumas Memorial Nursing Center Administrator Belinda Sosi, “the Bahktkas have donated a bigger flag for us to fly. We just want to let everyone know we support our troops and are proud to be Americans.” Pictured are Nita and Pritesh Bahktka presenting the flag to Dumas Memorial Nursing Center resident Wendell Bose. Wild weekend weather
Another round of storms hit Moore County over the weekend. According to information provided by the National Weather Service Dumas received just under an inch of rain along with large hail and damaging winds.

Annual Relay for Life begins Friday evening
In just two days, dedicated teams of individuals will gather at Dumas Junior High to take part in the annual Moore County Relay for Life event. The 12-hour walk begins Friday at 7 p.m. and concludes Saturday at 7 a.m.
