As part of its effort to promote business and help revitalize the downtown area of Dumas, the Dumas Downtown Association will be hosting a sidewalk sale Saturday, September 14, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm around the courthouse square and on Dumas Avenue. "We are going to have bargains and sales as businesses get their summer things out the door and and bring in their fall and winter things," said Beth Ann Clark, Events Chair of the Events Committee of the Dumas Downtown Association. Though the focus of the event is downtown, Clark says some businesses located outside the downtown area will also be participating.
"We are trying to create a small-town, downtown environment," said Clark of the day's activities. She says there will be vendors from the area, a bouncy house for children, and a photo booth, among other things, set up around the square. H2O will be there serving tea and water. Adam Inmon and his music students will perform, and KDDD radio will be on the square broadcasting live. "We are trying to get the community involved … to bring the community together in a fun and exciting way," said Clark.
Clark says Dumas Downtown Association will also have an information tent on the square. "Come down and see what is going on in and around the community, enjoy each other's company, and have a good afternoon," she said.
