Winners have been drawn in the first annual Holiday Give-Back Giveaway, a shop local promotion conducted by the Moore County News-Press, the Dumas/Moore County Chamber of Commerce and the Dumas Economic Development Corporation.
Up for grabs in the Give-Back Giveaway was $450. The promotion guaranteed a minimum $300 first prize and a $100 second prize, with a bonus $50 going to the first prize winner if he/she shopped at a Chamber member business. Otherwise, a $50 third prize was to be awarded.
The winners were drawn Thursday morning, and Sharon Marquez’s receipt was pulled from the bucket of entries. Once it was verified that her receipt came from a Chamber member business, a second place receipt belonging to Yolanda Salcido was drawn. Yolanda will receive $100 while Sharon will receive $350.
The News-Press, Chamber and DEDC each contributed $150 in prize money for the promotion aimed at keeping shopping dollars in Moore County this past Christmas season.
The receipts submitted to the News-Press (via email, text and by dropping off in person) reflected purchases that were made at 24 different local merchants including Allsup’s, Toot ‘n Totum, Wendy’s, Murphy USA, Dollar General, Braum’s, Big R, Evelyn Theatre, CVS, Dollar Tree, Blessings from Above, Stage, United, A&I Parts, Jeannie B’s, Dumas Printing, Dumas Food Stop, Bartlett’s, Stewart’s Lube & Wash, Lowe’s, Pak-A-Sak, Big Country Cafe, Walmart and Hogg’s BBQ.
The program sponsors thank everyone for shopping local and for entering for their chance to win the Holiday Give-Back Giveaway.
A special thanks to the Dumas Downtown Association for helping promote the program, as well.
