On May 3 at approximately 1 a.m. the Dumas Police Department was dispatched to a  residence in the 700 block of 3rd Place on a deceased person.

Officers found a 56-year-old female deceased. At around the same time, officers were involved in a pursuit that ended in Stinnett. The vehicle being pursued crashed and the 31-year-old driver was ejected and taken to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo with serious injuries.

The driver is believed to be involved in the death of the female. Texas Rangers from the Department of Public Safety and the Moore County Sheriff's Office are assisting Dumas Police Department in this ongoing investigation, according to Chief Ray Resendez.
