Dumas Police Department Chief Marvin Trejo has passed away. The department issued a statement earlier today that read, "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a great friend and leader, Chief Marvin W. Trejo.  Chief Trejo, who had served the Dumas Police Department in many roles since 1994 and was appointed Chief of Police in 2019, passed away on May 10, 2020 at an area hospital.

"Chief Trejo has left a permanent mark on the lives and careers of many officers, not only of the Dumas Police Department but also those of many other communities.  Chief Trejo’s leadership and guidance will be greatly missed by our officers.

"Funeral arrangements have not been finalized at this time."
