On Saturday Feb. 27, at approximately 10:50 p.m., deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to U.S. Highway 287 in reference to a deceased individual in the roadway. Upon arrival, deputies identified the deceased individual as Elizabeth Loera Lujan. Elizabeth sustained injuries consistent with falling out of the vehicle.

Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division. At that time a full investigation ensued. The Texas Rangers, Texas Department of Public Safety and the 69th District Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation.

As a result of the investigation, an individual identified as Chadrick Lujan was arrested for Manslaughter and placed in the Moore County Jail. Charges are pending and the case will be filed with the 69th District Attorney’s Office for further review.
