Jimmy Lee Payne, 82 of Dumas, passed away on Monday, Nov. 16, 2020.  Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020 at Temple Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Fobbs, pastor of the church, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.  Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #224 of Dumas.  

Jimmy Lee Payne was born on June 22, 1938 to Arthur Lee and Lillie Mae (Robertson) Payne in Slaton. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the 497th Fighter Squadron.  On Dec. 27, 1985, he married Jodena Crow at the First Baptist Church in Dumas.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; two sons: Jeffery Lynn Payne and Danny Lee Payne; two brothers: ALB Payne and Thomas Payne; four sisters: Velma, Pauline, Jane, Bonnie; grandson: James William Ralston II.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jodena Payne; son: Rusty Lee of Pampa, TX; daughters: Tammy Lane and husband Kyle of Haltom city; Shanna Crow and partner Kristy Kirkpatrick of Fritch, TX; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters: Artie McMinn of Ruidoso, NM and Mary Nixon, of Tucson, AZ.

The family suggests with gratitude that memorials be made to Moore County Senior Citizens Center, Temple Baptist Church Youth Camp or to your local favorite charity.
