BORGER – The Sunray Bobcats made it to the first round of the 2A basketball playoffs. Sunray traveled to Borger on Friday, Feb. 19, and squared off with the Panhandle Panthers. Panhandle took control of the game and dropped Sunray from further playoff contention.

Leading scorers for Sunray were Julian Espino with 15 and Cody Grasse had seven points.

Sunray's record is 15-11 with the loss to Panhandle. The Bobcats finish 5-5 in district after playing Sanford-Fritch and Stratford a third time to determine playoff seeding.

"I'm really proud of how far we've come in a year, in terms of buying into basketball," Sunray Boys Basketball Head Coach Adam Wodach said in a previous statement. "… I'm just really happy to see some of the culture starting to shift. … Without a good culture, you're in trouble."

Wodach believes in his guys and has plans for future success down the road.
