The Dumas Demonettes opened district play on Friday, Jan. 10, at home with the Perryton Rangerettes. The Demonettes were down in the first period and tied it at the half. The Demonetts went on to outscore the Rangerettes in the second half to get the win 26-21.

The Demonettes bounced back, outscoring the Rangerettes 8-2 in the third period. Danny Duran led the Demonettes in scoring with eight, followed by Macie Medrano with seven.

The varsity squad, with the JV and freshmen, travel to Borger to take on the Lady Bulldogs for their next contest. Game time begins at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14.

The JV won their game earlier on Friday, defeating Perryton 35-21 and the freshmen got the victory 27-19.
