The Dumas Demonette varsity volleyball team swept the visiting Perryton Rangerettes 3-0 (25-16, 25-7, 25-7), Saturday, Oct. 2.

 The Demonettes came out hot in Game One taking the early lead.

Dumas was in full control of the game with a lead of 15-9 going into Perryton’s first called timeout.

The Rangerettes did their best to get back into the game scoring two unanswered points cutting the Demonette lead to 15-11.

The Demonettes proved to be too much as they added to their lead to eventually put Perryton away 25-16.

Dumas dominated Game Two, taking a commanding 9-1 lead and didn’t let the Rangerettes come close to winning as they took the game 25-7.

Game Three was similar to Game Two. The Demonettes started strong and had a stranglehold on the Rangerettes, going up as much as 11 going into a Perryton timeout with a score of 14-3.

The Demonettes would win this game in a decisive fashion with the score of 25-7.

With the win Dumas’ district record stands at 2-1 with an overall record of 26-11 at press time.

Seniors Brenley Rodriguez, Sheda Madit, Jazlyn Ortiz, Karina Puents, Abree Elsheimer and Vanessa Martinez were recognized before game during the Senior Day ceremony.

Brenley Rodriguez had a big day, recording 11 kills and a block and an assist on a block. Abree Elsheimer ended the day with seven kills and eight digs.   

The Demonettes will take the court again Saturday, Oct. 9 when they host the Borger Lady Bulldogs at 12 p.m.
