After taking the district title on Saturday, Nov. 2, the Demonettes traveled to Plainview to face Lamesa in the bi-district round of the playoffs. On Monday, Nov. 4, the Demonettes were considered the home team at Plainview High School.

Like Saturday, the Demonettes struggled some but ultimately won the match. Unlike Saturday, four sets was all it took to determine the victor.

In the first set, the Demonettes got off to a slow start and trailed through most of it. Dumas tied it at 16 and slowly started to pull away and led by five, 24-19. Lamesa didn't quit as the lead started to slip away. The Demonettes eventually dropped the first set 25-27.

Dumas rebounded in the second set and went on to take the next two sets to defeat Lamesa 3-1. The final scores were 25-14, 25-10, 25-9.

Securing the win Monday night, the Demonettes are now scheduled to play Clint Mountain View in the next round, which will be Saturday in Denver City at 2 p.m. Area playoffs are scheduled for Nov. 7-Nov. 9.
