On Saturday, Nov. 14, the Sunray Ladycats visited the Dumas Demonettes for an early matchup this young season. A 4A school clashes with a 2A school. Both JV and varsity squads were on the court on Saturday.

The JV Ladycats came off a loss to Tulia on Tuesday, Nov. 10, while the varsity Ladycats came away with a thrilling win over the Lady Hornets on Tuesday.

The varsity Demonettes came in the game with a loss to Dalhart on Tuesday.

In this game on Saturday, the Demonettes made quick work with the ball, outscoring the Ladycats in every quarter. Sheda Madit and Brenley Rodriguez each had 10 points in the game for the Demonettes as they topped the Ladycats 43-20. The JV squads went on the court first and Dumas won 39-20.

The varsity game scoring went like this:

For the Ladycats, Arianna Gallegos had seven points, while Ella Strickland had six points in the game. After going scoreless in the first period, the Ladycats came back with six in the second and put up 14 in the second half.

The Demonettes' schedule has changed. A different opponent is in the works for Friday, Nov. 20. The Ladycats' season is on hold. Sunray ISD has canceled all activities and closed schools through Nov. 30
