The Dumas varsity and JV softball teams were in action Tuesday, Feb. 12, as Hereford visited the Dumas field. It was a runaway victory for the varsity team as they won 11-1 in five innings. The JV squad shut out Hereford 16-0.

For the varsity Demonettes, Aneesa Elizondo went 3-for-3 with a single, a double and a home run. Itzel Escarcega went 3-for-3 with a single and two home runs. Justine DeLaCruz and Jannessa Chairez both went 3-for-3 in the game. DeLaCruz had two singles and a home run, while Chairez had two singles and a double.

Additionally, Sinai Gutierrez had a double and single going 2-for-3 at bats. Veronica De La Rosa and Brianna Chacon both went 1-for-3 and each had a single in the game.

Kim Morales pitched five innings for the Demonettes and had nine strikeouts.
