On Tuesday, Sept. 10, the seventh and eighth grade Demons took to the field to battle the Canyon Eagles. The seventh grade teams hosted the Eagles at Demon Stadium, while the eighth grade teams were away.

The seventh grade Black team fell to the Eagles 12-6. The Demons scored on a 60-yard touchdown run by Kennon Walker, according to information provided by coach David Wylie.

The Orange team also came up short 20-14. Chris Soltero scored on a 50-yard pass from Sadler Wieck and Ismael Marchan scored on a 25-yard run for the Demons. Ismael also ran in a two-point conversion.

The Black team defense was led Avian Medrano and Dustin Coey.

The Orange team defense was led by Eduardo Rivera, Adolfo Amador and Ely Randol.

Isaiah Pena had an interception and run for 60 yards. Johnny Marquez also had an interception. Carlos Gomez created a turnover when he stripped the ball from an Eagle runner.

The eighth grade Black team fell short 14-2, losing to the Canyon Eagles, according to information provided by coach Kirk Green. 

In the game, Devon Gutierrez had a blocked punt and in offense, Ya Zar rushed for a team high 45 yards. 

The Orange team started off hot with a 85-yard touchdown run by running back Mar Mat Fee, but from there the Demons cooled off losing 28-6.

The seventh grade junior high Demons will compete next against Plainview Coronado at Plainview on Sept. 17, while the eighth grade Demons will host Plainview Coronado.
