The Dumas Junior High School Demons played Plainview Estacado on Tuesday, Oct. 8. The eighth grade played on home turf, while the seventh grade Demons were on the road at Estacado.

The eighth grade Black team picked up 167 yards on offense, with 158 of those on the ground. They scored 16 points and the defense held their opponent to one score. The Black team came out on top 16-6.

The Orange team racked up 227 rushing yards against Estacado's defense. They edged out Estacado by a final of 27-26.

The Black team came home with a win 6-0, while the Orange team fell 28-6.

The Black team was led on defense by Dustin Coey with five tackles. Also making plays on defense were Ruben Terrazas, Xsavian Sartain, Cade Torrez, Victor Tarango, Cesar Ramirez, Carlos Quiroz and Alexander Jelinek. Sartain had a fumble recovery.

Sadler Wieck led the offense with 40 yards rushing and a three-yard touchdown run. Aaron Orrantia, Ezven Venzor and Brennan Cox also contributed with good runs.

The highlight of the Orange team's game was a 70-yard kickoff return by Ishmael Marchan.

The seventh grade Demons next face Canyon on the road on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The eighth grade teams are at Demon Stadium on Tuesday.
