A tough battle was ahead of the Demonettes as they traveled to Dimmitt for bi-district playoff action against the Levelland Loboettes. The season would end for the Demonettes as the Loboettes won 49-24.

Courtnee Mild lost the opening tip-off to Levelland. They scored and took a quick 2-0 lead over the Demonettes.

The Demonettes began their possession, but Levelland stole the ball and went to the basket for another score. They had three quick scores under a minute to give Levelland the advantage 6-0.

Danny Duran shot two free throws to get the Demonettes on the board. Levelland scored again and extended their lead 10-2 before Duran put up a bucket to cut the lead 10-4.

Joanna Trevizo scored another two inside three minutes in the first quarter.

After being down 6-0 early in the first, the Demonettes battled back and tied it, 12-12 at the end of the first quarter.

Into the second quarter, Levelland took the lead back 14-12 with under six minutes to go in the second quarter. With just under five minutes, Levelland went up 21-12.

Trevizo put up two inside two minutes to cut the lead to seven, 21-14.

Levelland added another score going into the half, 23-14.

Coming back from the break, Levelland scored a three early in the third quarter to go up 26-14.

The Demonettes scored two quick three’s with shots from Mild and Macie Medrano to get within six 26-20.

Unfortunately, the Demonettes could not slow down the scoring offense of Levelland and trailed 30-20 after three quarters of play.

In the final quarter,  Levelland scored 19 more points, while the Demonettes only put up four.

Leading scorer for the Demonettes was Medrano with nine points, as she sank three 3-pointers. Mild had seven points with two three’s and a free throw on the night.

Trevizo and Duran both had four points.

The Demonettes fought a top-rated team in the state in Levelland. The Demonettes close the season and finish 9-15 overall, including the 0-1 postseason action. They were 4-4 in the district.
