In a tough start on Tuesday, as the Demons battled on the home court against the Stratford Elks, the Demons trailed the Elks by three going into the second period. The Demons found their groove in the second period and didn't look back. They simply outscored their opponent and went on to defeat the Elks 55-36.

Kyle Stroebel was the leading scorer for the Demons as he put up 18 points. He was followed by Johnny Reynaga, who had 12 points on the night for the varsity squad. Six other Demons contributed to the scoring and continued their winning ways.

The JV squad won their game earlier Tuesday evening as they defeated the visiting Elks 56-26.

The freshmen, JV and varsity teams open district play on Friday, Jan. 17, at home against Dalhart. The Demonettes will be at home also on Friday as they will take on the Lady Wolves. Game times are set to begin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday at Dumas High School.
